Safe and healthy working environment
FEBC recognises that the health and safety of our employees is integral to our long-term success.
FEBC is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees, contractors and visitors through implementing quality management systems in all our service delivery areas.
FEBC - Responsibilities
To achieve this, FEBC will:
- Meet all legal requirements.
- Establish procedures to ensure effective implementation of this policy.
- Provide adequate occupational health and safety training and guidance to our employees.
- Build amongst our employees an enthusiasm for complying with and continuously improving our safety systems.
- Develop amongst our employees, recognition that safety is integral to their roles.
- Recognise individual and team efforts in promoting health and safety.
- Continually reduce health and safety risks to employees and contractors by controlling hazards in the work environment.
- Provide resources to support the effective implementation of this policy.
The Secretary and Vice President, Club Operations will conduct six-monthly Workplace Safety Inspections for presentation to the Board.
President – Responsibility
The President will have the role of Responsible Officer for the Club.
Employees and Contractors – Responsibilities
We expect our employees and any contractors to
- Comply with this occupational health and safety policy and all procedures related to this policy.
- Use any facilities and equipment in a way that eliminates any risk to themselves and others.
- Behave at all times in a way that will not cause injury or illness to others.
- Advocate for improved occupational health and safety performance.
- Report all occupational health and safety incidents to their immediate manager.
MANUAL HANDLING PROCEDURES
FEBC is committed to providing a safe and healthy working environment for our employees and Board members.
Implementing these procedures will enhance the safety of employees and Board members when undertaking manual handling activities.
The plant and equipment used in workplaces are to be designed, constructed and maintained so as to be, so far as is reasonably practicable, safe and without risk to health and safety.
Work practices involving manual handling are designed, implemented and maintained so as to be, so far as reasonably practicable, safe and without risk to health and safety.
The working environment is designed, constructed and maintained so as to be, so far as reasonably practicable, consistent with safe manual handling practices.
FEBC procedures for assessing manual handling requirements will be established on an appraisal of each manual handling situation. This appraisal will establish the work procedures to be followed for that procedure. The appraisal and work procedure will be reviewed annually.
