Club
We recognise that a Club that is well informed is one that will learn and develop. In turn the Club will grow and prosper far more quickly. As part of our commitment to learning and development, we will: -

  • Hold regular meetings of members to discuss key issues and to gain feedback about club progress to allow us to be more responsive to our clients.
  • Post minutes of Board of Directors meetings within 5 working days of the meeting.
  • Public a regular the Club Newsletter.

Board of Directors
For any organisation to excel, its Board of Directors must be aware of the issues of the day and the challenges of tomorrow. It must be able to work out what needs to be done today, next month and next year to achieve our vision. It must also be capable of identifying possible solutions for problems that arise or are seen to be evolving. As the second part of our commitment to learning and development we will: -

  • Make sure our Board of Directors meetings focus on Governance issues at the Club the Goals of the club, compliance with our Governance arrangements and our success in working towards those goals.
  • Empower our staff and coaches to implement the strategies with our guidance but with limited direction.

Staff and Coaches
The quality of the outcomes delivered by every organisation is dependent on the capability and attitude of its staff. That’s why many organisations say that their staff are their most valuable asset. At our Club we concur with that sentiment but rather than having it as our slogan, we will have strategies to demonstrate the importance we place on the people we employ.
As the third part of our commitment to learning and development our Club will encourage all to complete employment related training.
In general terms we would expect that our: -

  • Finance staff will be experienced at bookkeeping and accounts administration.
  • Bar and Canteen staff have completed appropriate (in particular mandatory) training.
  • Basketball staff have completed appropriate (in particular mandatory) training.
  • Coaches have completed a Level 1 Coaching course.
