Forestville's junior program aims to provide players with the individual attention they need to reach their maximum potential. It has a strong focus on individual skill development and team work, and players are provided with specific and detailed feedback on these aspects of their game so that they can improve at a high rate.
All division 1 coaches from U12s to U20s have Level 2 accreditation, and many others have Level 1 accreditation. Coaches have access to a library of instructional books and videos to ensure continuous learning and development.
The Forestville junior program is based on motion offense and man-to-man defense, as we believe that these philosophies provide players with the best chance of reaching their potential. These philosophies are taught consistently across all age groups and divisions, and there is a logical progression from one age group to the next.
Coaches are provided with equipment such as agility ladders, hurdles, blocking mats, medicine balls and dribbling and shooting aids for use at trainings.
Players in U12s, U14s and U16s are provided with home programs for developing their shooting, ball skills, passing and fitness. Selected players are also invited to attend optional individual training sessions.
Division 1 coaches are responsible for coordinating the training program of all teams in their age group. Forestville has a tradition of providing quality coaching for players of all divisions.
