about us

Welcome

Welcome to the web site of the Villi's Forestville Eagles Basketball Club.

Forestville is one of the 10 member clubs of the Basketball SA and has a strong tradition of success at both junior and senior levels. The club is based at the Wayville Sports Centre, the best facility for district basketball in South Australia.

The goals of the club are to:

· achieve on-court success at all levels,
· provide a pathway beyond district level for elite players, coaches and administrators,
· create an environment which caters to the needs of players of all ages and abilities,
· be a leader in the management of basketball events and programs in South Australia,
· develop basketball at the primary school level in the Forestville area,
· establish a club structure which ensures long-term financial security.

The club participates in the running of Basketball Australia's Aussie Hoops program, for players aged 4 to 12. We have one of the largest and longest running Aussie Hoops programs in the State.

Forestville enters teams in the City South Basketball Conference domestic competition. City South is a joint venture between Forestville and Sturt, and involves over 250 primary aged boys and girls.

Our junior program fields teams in the BASA junior competition from Under 10s to Under 20s. We focus on skill development and providing pathways for all players to achieve the highest level of success possible.

Our division 1 men’s and women’s team compete in the Australian Basketball League Central Conference, and have a history of success which includes championships mens teams in 2006. We also have teams competing in most other divisions of the Basketball SA senior competition.

Forestville is proud of the players who represent us at a higher level at State teams, South Australian Sports Institute squads (SASI), Adelaide 36ers andAdelaide Lightning.

Forestville is always looking for players and coaches at all junior and senior ages and divisions. If you would like to join, contact Glenn Mathieson, Basketball Manager on mob:0417 855 247

PLAYER MEMBERSHIP FEES
Like most not for profit sporting clubs, Forestville is dependent upon the payment of membership fees for its survival. These fees are critical to enabling the club to pay for player registration and to provide training facilities and dedicated junior coaching personnel, to support your child in his or her basketball development.

In order for our club to continue to provide the current level of service to members, and to enable the club to meet its financial obligations as they arise we require prompt payment of invoices. Unfortunately, the club is incurring significant costs and requiring a substantial commitment of volunteer hours in preparation and delivery of reminder notices and in recovery of outstanding monies.
