Basketball SA Behaviour Management Framework

Published Thu 29 Jan 2026

Dear Members,

We’re sharing an important update from Basketball SA. From the start of the 2026 District Season, the Warning Card System will be introduced to help create positive and respectful game-day environments.

The Warning Card System is a new tool added to support the implementation of the existing Behaviour Management Framework. The Warning Card will be used to manage spectators’ behaviour at games. This will be the first and only warning the entire spectating group will get, the next step will be ejection of those spectators.

Technical Fouls will be applied to the coach, and in some divisions, the coach will be ejected too if a spectator is ejected.

We encourage you to be a role model and set an example of positive behaviour when you are supporting our club. You can read the full details on what constitutes receiving a warning card on Basketball SA’s website www.basketballsa.com.au.
